Manager, New Product Development – Sylvan Foods, Inc.

Job description

Lead creation and implementation of product strategies in fungal portfolio. Manage product lifecycle from ideation to commercialization by developing product timelines, budgets and resources. Manage team of research scientists and technicians. Utilize mycology and formulation/processing experience to guide development of new product specifications, including ingredients, formulations and key process parameters such as inoculum use, production, incubation, and downstream processing. 25% domestic and international travel (North America, Asia, Europe)

Job requirements

  • Master’s degree in Biotechnology or related scientific field
  • 2 years of experience as Research Scientist or related occupation
  • Demonstrated experience with: mycology and formulation/processing (identification, isolation and growth optimization); product development related to mushroom/fungal-based products; commercial crop management; liquid and solid substrate fermentation processes; quality control systems and processes; aseptic technique; and fungal taxonomy, physiology and ecology.
